The "Bio-Agritourism"
We like to define our agritourism a “bio-agritourism” because we want to refer to terms like BIOLOGICAL and GREEN BUILDING. Cascina Bosco Fornasara is in fact our biological farmhouse but it is also our home, which we have partly built and partly restored following the principles of green building.
All you can find here is the result of careful choices, based on the respect of nature and on sustainability and ecological policies. The building hosting the reception, the shop and the “Room with a view” is part of the original structure, dating to 1800, which was used by the employees of Cascina Bosco, before the agricultural revolution of the ’60. We restored it with natural and recycled materials, (rice husk, lime, dirt, straw, hemp, wood), the furniture and the floor are made of wood, treated with natural oil and ecological paints, soaps and detergents are eco-friendly.
Sustainable ospitality
Breakfast is made of biological ingredients, at zero km, mainly vegetable and integral. For the restoration we adopted the maximum possible ecological standards, not only in the choice of the materials, natural and completely a-toxic, but also in the energetical planning.
Water is heated by means of solar panels and electric energy is produced by the solar power system, located above the agricultural structures. The heating is underfloor, in order to offer the maximum thermic comfort and the least energetic consumption.
Waste collection is separate.
The room with view
Our room with a view offers a double exposure with a delightful panorama which, in the clear days, allows to admire the plain and the sun setting on Monte Rosa. The walls are plastered in natural clay and painted with lime, the floor and the furniture are made of natural wood. It has a private bathroom (supplied with shower, wc, bidet, hairdryer, eco-friendly soaps, towels in pure cotton) and an equipped kitchen area.
The room has a double bed to which a second one can possibly be added for a total of 4 beds.
The "Bio-Pool"
The “bio pool” is a deeply ecological choice, in which we recognize ourselves 100% and which has added beauty, hospitality and biodiversity to our home.
It reproduces exactly the context of a natural lake, with vital water capable of self-purifying without the need for chemicals (e.g. the chlorine used in traditional pools), through phytodepuration (source: biolaghiegiardini.it), i.e. the natural process by which aquatic plants and natural substrate activate a series of biological reactions and “filtering” that naturally purify the water as happens, for example, in mountain lakes, making it healthy even for bathing.
The water is also suitable for the most delicate skin and acts as a drinking trough for animals and a habitat for the reproduction of dragonflies and frogs. In short, no more chlorine and long live bio pools!
