Visit the farm

Lomellina is a land of rice fields, of landscapes that change with the seasons, and of ancient farming traditions. Here at Cascina Bosco, we have chosen to cultivate according to the principles of regenerative organic agriculture—an approach that goes beyond simply “doing no harm” and actively seeks to restore soil fertility, enrich the landscape with biodiversity, and bring vitality back to the communities who live here.

We open our doors to those who wish to explore this world up close: our guided tours are not just a walk, but a journey through the history of rice farming in Lomellina, blending tradition, landscape, and agricultural innovation.

Discover Regenerative Farming in the Heart of Lomellina

Walking through the fields, we explain how rice, grains, and legumes are grown without chemical fertilizers or harmful pesticides. We show crop rotations, grassy banks, rows of native hedges and trees, and cover crops that nourish the soil—tangible examples of agriculture with a future.

We share the vision that guides us every day: farming in harmony with nature, preserving the memory of ancient knowledge while embracing new insights that help us build regenerative agriculture. For us, welcoming guests also means regenerating knowledge—intertwining the wisdom handed down from peasant traditions with the new perspectives born of scientific research and practical experience.

During the visit, we talk about farming—but also about the future, about choices, about responsibility. Because knowing is the first step towards change.

And after observing and listening, comes the moment of conviviality: visits often end around a shared table, where our products become simple, wholesome dishes. It is here that community is strengthened, and storytelling turns into a lived experience—so that every participant carries home not only a memory, but also a small seed of awareness.

Taking part in a visit means stepping into the living heart of the farm and discovering, step by step, that the land itself is alive: if we care for it, it gives life back to us.

Guided Tours for Schools

We warmly welcome schools of all levels, because we believe that knowledge also comes through direct experience.

During guided visits, we take children and young people into the fields to show them how rice, grains, and legumes are grown organically and regeneratively. We talk about crop rotations, biodiversity, and how nature can be protected through farming practices that respect soil, water, and air. We also introduce the concept of carbon farming, a practice that increases the soil’s ability to capture and store carbon, thereby reducing the impact of climate change.

These themes connect directly with school programs on environmental education and ecological transition. The farm experience thus becomes a concrete opportunity for students to understand how agricultural choices impact the planet’s future.

We offer educational pathways that allow students to:

  • Observe firsthand how a sustainable farm works

  • Learn the importance of biodiversity and soil regeneration

  • Link classroom theory with real-life field experience

These days are designed as open-air laboratories, where children and young people become active participants in a formative experience.
